In terms of connectivity, the 57X integrates Detroit Connect® technology, which translates performance data into real-time insights, and empowers drivers to make informed decisions to keep their trucks operational and earning. This new truck model is also built on the durable Daimler corporate chassis, which has been backed by millions of miles of performance testing, and also features reinforced aluminum doors with internally mounted hinges to ensure no sagging and greater durability. Additionally, the C-bar mirror system maximizes stability and functionality to assist drivers throughout their journeys.
Advanced Safety
The Western Star 57X represents a significant advancement in both safety and technology, boasting the Detroit Assurance® Suite of Safety Systems, the most advanced safety technology in the industry. This system not only enhances the safety of the operator but also improves uptime by anticipating traffic conditions and mitigating potential hazards. Included is Active Brake Assist 5, capable of detecting both moving and stationary objects and initiating braking when necessary, even at speeds as low as 5 mph. This is currently the only system on the market that works down to 5 mph. Other features such as Adaptive Cruise Control to 0 mph, Brake Hold Mode, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Protection, Side Guard Assist, and Active Side Guard Assist ensure comprehensive protection for drivers and pedestrians alike, particularly in urban environments.
Furthermore, the 57X has incorporated cutting-edge design elements to enhance visibility and durability. Its new windshield is 2.5x more resistant to damage and offers a 28% larger surface area than previous models, with solar-tinted glass for heat reduction. The Dual-Stage Intelligent LED Headlights also feature high-impact polycarbonate lenses as well as heated lenses to prevent damage and maintain visibility in various conditions, while also reducing eye fatigue and improving object detection. Western Star 57X Interior
This new Western Star model also offers a luxurious interior with a variety of colors and finishes, complemented by a digital dash featuring up to six customizable gauges that provide important engine information and alerts from Detroit Assurance and Detroit Connect Virtual Technician®. Wrapped in leather, the multi-function steering wheel integrates controls for stereo, driver command center interaction, cruise control, and Bluetooth connections, while the adjustable steering column enhances driver comfort. Transmission control from the column allows for both automated manual and automatic transmission shifting and engine braking functions, while Quickfit dash access, located on top of the dash, simplifies wire routing for dash-mounted devices. Conveniently located remote mirror and window control switches, along with three extra-large cup holders, further enhance driver convenience, and allow them to keep their focus on the road.
Sleeper Cab & Optional Drivers Lounge
The sleeper compartment of the Western Star 57X is designed to offer drivers ample comfort and space to reset while on the road. The optional driver's lounge that can be added into this new model provides a versatile space for eating, working, relaxing, and recharging, featuring a two-seat dinette and a foldable worktable that converts into a cozy sleeping area. Additional amenities include cabinetry for storage, large sleeper windows for natural light, optional heating systems for comfort in any climate, LED lighting, and optional premium insulation for extreme weather conditions. Optional factory-installed power inverters and prewire options further cater to the diverse needs of drivers, ensuring a comfortable and productive journey.
